Low coolant light on but reservoir full

I did pull the overflow line and blew it out completely. Should have said in original post, we had the cap tested and it was ok but I replaced it anyhow. 162k miles on vehicle, about 8k on new engine. Vehicle is a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L. The leak is getting old and when the radiator gets down on coolant it makes the whole engine run rough! Where the heck can this be going? If it is through a small crack in head or gasket into intake I would think it would throw a code and miss-fire. I can fill the system full, then go drive a couple of days and when I check again the radiator will be down about a quart or more depending on how many trips and how far was driven. Can't find fluid anywhere it shouldn't be.ĥ) no froth/foamy oil on dipstick or in oil fill cap.

Softplugs originally had a few drip marks but have since sealed.

(replaced heater core and blend doors a year ago).Ģ) I have checked that the overflow tank hose is not pluggedģ) I have filled the radiator completely and bled the air from the bleed screw on the upper rad hose so I know the system is full.Ĥ) No visible leaks anywhere. Since then though we are still losing coolant! The overflow tank is filled to the full mark but when I pop the radiator cap it is low.ġ) NO heater core leak.

In Jan I replaced the radiator due to a leak.

We had our engine replaced last Nov due to a blown head gasket.
